Colnago Campagnolo Super Record Vintage Road Bicycle 1970s
History:
The revolutionary Colnago Super was introduced in 1968, marking a significant turning point in the world of cycling as it bridged the gap between mass production and the rise of advanced technology. Created with the expertise of Colnago and the world's elite athletes, this bicycle embodies the pinnacle of cycling sport.
This classic design features round tubes, but during this period there was constant innovation and experimentation with technical solutions to enhance bicycle performance. In addition to comfort for longer rides, riders are now seeking responsiveness on both flat and uphill terrain. To achieve this, smaller bike sizes were assembled with Columbus Sl tubes, while larger sizes used Columbus SP tubes with increased thicknesses. Over the years, improvements such as Brain tubing were introduced, making this model one of the longest-running in Colnago's catalogs. It's worth noting that the Super was also released in the Superissimo Six versions (with internal piping reinforcements) and Sprint (or Classic and/or International) with a more affordable price for the general public.
