Rossin Super Record Campagnolo Vintage Road Bicycle 1980s
Description:
Mario Rossin is known as one of the best Italian frame builders at his time. He started to gather his knowledge about building professional frames while working at Ernesto Colnago’s workshop. In 1974 Mario started his own company “Rossin” with four other partners Vittorio, Guiseppe Ghezzi, Inzaghi and Garbelli. Until today the brand is known for its special design and innovation.
The Rossin Super Record with its iconic italian national colours paintjob, is equipped with special Rossin pantographed Campagnolo Super Record parts.
The Campagnolo Super Record groupset was considered the top-of-the-line derailleur in its era. Various extravagant claims were made, such as the use of a "super special" aluminum alloy and black anodizing with special properties. However, in reality, the aluminum was the same as that used in the Nuovo Record and the black anodizing was simply black. The true technical distinctions were found in the rare materials used for the two large Allen bolts and the larger "flange" on the pulley cage. The derailleur has a satisfying weight to it, boasts a timeless design, and holds value due to its previous extravagant cost. While it may be difficult to pinpoint exactly what makes a product a classic, the Campagnolo Super Record undoubtedly fits the bill.
