This exceptional singlespeed bike is based on a frame built by the small Milanese workshop Milanetti, known for producing finely crafted steel frames in limited numbers. The standout feature is the red cromovelato finish: the frame was first fully chrome-plated and then coated with an extremely thin, transparent tinted layer, giving the steel remarkable depth and luminosity. Combined with the chrome fork and red Ambrosio rims, the result is a striking and highly cohesive aesthetic.

All aluminium components – including the stem, seatpost, brakes, hubs and crankset – were stripped of their old clearcoat and polished through multiple stages to achieve a mirror-like finish. The gold KMC chain and the 24-karat gold-plated bolts on the stem, seatpost and the former downtube shifter mounts add additional highlights, giving the bike an upscale and distinctive appearance.

The drivetrain uses a classic singlespeed setup with a 42:17 ratio, ideal for smooth and efficient urban riding. Traditional front and rear brakes provide controlled stopping power, while the overall clean and minimalist configuration emphasises the bike’s purist, sporty character. The result is a uniquely built steel bike that stands out clearly from typical urban conversions.

Condition:

Used. The Milanetti frame is in very well-maintained condition. The red cromovelato finish shows the characteristic depth and brilliance of this technique, along with a few light age-related marks typical for such an extremely thin lacquer layer. A few small areas were carefully touched up during the refurbishment to preserve the overall aesthetic.

The bike was fully disassembled; all bearings were cleaned and regreased, and every component was thoroughly inspected and refined. The polished aluminium parts display a consistent high-quality finish, and the wheels run smoothly and were expertly trued.

Technically, the singlespeed bike is ready to ride and delivers a direct, lightweight ride experience. Thanks to its cromovelato finish, polished components and gold-accented details, it remains a distinctive one-off with a unique visual presence.
