General Questions

What is a vintage road bike?

Vintage road bikes are classic racing bicycles mostly from the 1950s to the 1990s appreciated for their high-quality craftsmanship, timeless aesthetics, and unique riding experience. These bikes often feature high-quality steel frames, made from Columbus, Reynolds or Vitus tubing, offering a balanced mix of comfort and stability.

Until the late 1980s, they were typically equipped with downtube shifters, providing a direct and mechanically simple shifting system. Another characteristic feature of these bikes is the external routing of brake cable housings over the top of the handlebars, further emphasizing their vintage appeal.

What does the restoration process involve?

Our restoration process begins with a thorough inspection to ensure the frame’s structural integrity. Next, we completely disassemble the bicycle, performing a deep cleaning of the frame and using a ultrasonic cleaner to meticulously clean all components. All bearings are lubricated and worn parts are either replaced or expertly refurbished. The paint is professionally restored and polished to revive its original beauty. Finally, each bike undergoes a test ride to ensure authenticity, performance, and optimal functionality.
