History:

Eddy Merckx, born in 1945 in Belgium, is widely regarded as one of the greatest cyclists of all time. With 525 professional victories, including five wins at the Tour de France and five at the Giro d’Italia, he left an indelible mark on cycling history. Nicknamed "The Cannibal" for his relentless hunger for victory, Merckx dominated the sport throughout the 1960s and 1970s in almost every road cycling discipline.
