History:

Limongi was a small, artisan frame builder based in Rueil-Malmaison near Paris, active during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Behind the name stood Giuseppe “Pepe” Limongi, a meticulous craftsman known for his elegant use of Nervex lugs, precise alignment, and fine finishing details. He was part of a generation of Parisian builders who valued individual craftsmanship over serial production, creating lightweight racing frames for discerning riders and local teams.

This early-1970s Special Limongi Qualité represents that spirit perfectly — refined, balanced, and built with genuine French elegance from cycling’s golden age.

Description:

This Special Limongi is a true gem of French frame-building artistry. Built in the early 1970s and fully restored with great attention to detail, it retains its original gold-to-burgundy paintwork — a striking and rare survivor of its era. The elegant Nervex lugs highlight the precision and care that went into every Limongi frame, while the classic geometry offers a timeless ride feel that remains smooth and responsive even today.

Equipped with a period-correct Huret drivetrain, Stronglight crankset, and Mafac brakes, the bicycle combines mechanical reliability with unmistakable vintage charm. Every component was carefully cleaned, polished, and reassembled to preserve the character and functionality of the original setup. The result is a wonderfully balanced machine that captures the essence of early-1970s French racing style — subtle, graceful, and beautifully made.
